1b. How do I create my Dreamweaver CS5 site definition?

Dreamweaver uses the site definition to determine where all your LOCAL and REMOTE site files are stored.
If you are at home, YOU ONLY NEED TO DO THIS ONCE.
On campus, you have to do this EVERY TIME YOU LOG IN (or import site definition)

Make sure you have a local root folder

You need to keep all your files for this class within ONE FOLDER. The Dreamweaver Site Definition should always point to THAT FOLDER (not to a folder within it). For CIS 212 and GD 217, make sure you have a folder named local_root. For CIS 213, call it 213root.

Create New Site Definition

Select Site -> New Site

Set Local Info

site settings

With the Advanced Tab selected, enter the local settings as shown above.

Site Name can be anything and can include spaces. (I have about 10 sites I work on, so I try to make each of the 10 site
definitions descriptive.)

Local Root Folder is the path and name of the folder where you will keep all your files.
Click the folder icon to browse to YOUR folder. Your path will probably look different from mine.
