Topics/ThemesED 214 introduces successful design and teaching strategies for those teaching or interested in developing an online course. Participants will experience components of an online course from both student and teacher perspectives. Due Dates, Make-ups, and IncompletesAssignments turned in after the due date lose 25% per week. Assignments will NOT be accepted after the Blackboard cutoff date. Quizzes will not be available after the due date -- there are no make-ups for quizzes. An incomplete grade is given only when there is an emergency near the end of the semester. Textbook
MaterialsStudents working on campus may need a USB Flash Memory Drive. Label it with your name and e-mail address and bring it to every class. Students must have reliable access to Internet and software for word processing and web development (FrontPage or Dreamweaver). Faculty can get Microsoft Word and FrontPage for home use from Southland Technlogy for only $30. Course software is available in room H-113. You can also find computers in faculty workrooms and the mall area in the new Science and Technology building. Attendance & ParticipationStudents may be dropped for lack of progress in accordance with Cuyamaca College policy. Any student missing the first quiz or two project deadlines may be dropped from the course by the instructor, but it is always the student's responsibility to drop any course not attended.
