ED 214:  Teaching an Online Course

Welcome to ED 214: Developing an Online Course
(Section #0650)

This course is an introduction to successful design and teaching strategies for those teaching or interested in developing an online course. Participants will learn to use technologies to support online instruction and will develop key components of an online course. It is assumed that participants will have basic computer skills (word processing, PowerPoint, e-mail, Web browsing).

Learn Online AND in Class

This class will be offered as a 12-week online or online/face-to-face blend in the spring semester.  The blended option will meet on Fridays  from 8-10 AM beginning February 3rd.   If you cannot attend the Friday section, you may take the class fully online.  Please see online course information for details about how an online class works.

Students need to have access to a reliable computer with a good Internet connection (high bandwidth) and word processing software.  Web authoring software (FrontPage or Dreamweaver) is also useful, but not required.

Cuyamaca and Grossmont teachers:  pay in person at the cashier's office for a huge discount (show your staff ID or pay stub). If you would like to take the course Credit/No Credit, pick up the form at the Admissions office.
