DESCRIPTION & EXAMPLES

INTRODUCTION

This site is about embroidery design, crochet, and vinyl wall art and it is titled "justforuembroidery". I chose this as my topic because my client creates all of these things and she needs a website so she can sell them.

SITE GOALS

Listed below are some things we would like to accomplish with this site:

  • My client would like to increase the number of buyers for the designs and projects she creates.

  • My client would like to have her products available on an online website so that she would be able to generate more income and have this be a full time job.

AUDIENCE

This site is for all age groups. Anyone who is interested in doing embroidery for personal reason such as gifts or for items to sale themselves. It is for anyone who does embroidery as a hobby. The crochet and vinyl wall art would be to any person looking for gifts to give or for something special just for themselves.

AUDIENCE PROFILE

Kacey is a middle-aged craft enthusiast. She is very comfortable using the internet to find embroidery designs to create wonderful gifts for the special people in her life. She also enjoys crochet items but does not have the talent to create them on her own. As for the vinyl wall art, she loves it! You should see her walls at home. She likes finding new craft websites that are user-friendly, loads quickly and are not cluttered. She really enjoys websites that offer more than one type of craft item.

CLIENT

The client is my sister. She is very crafty. She enjoys all types of crafts but gets the most enjoyment when she creates them herself. She will be creating all the items found on this site herself.

INTERFACE

This site needs to be simple to use so any age group can use it. It needs to load quickly so the graphics used need to be smaller file sizes. The font size is going to be medium size because the client wants it to be an easy read. The client has a logo and color scheme already chosen for the web design.

FLOWCHART

The flowchart shows the structure of your site, with each page represented by a box.  Start with paper & pencil or post-it notes.  Then you can either turn in a neat, hand-drawn flow chart or create an electronic flowchart using Microsoft Word draw tools, a graphics application like Fireworks, or a planning tool like Visio.
