INTRODUCTION This site is going to be a mock website for my girlfriend's mother's custome cake business. It will be called "Toni's Custom Cakes" I chose this topic because A) I feel it will be a good project I can use to utilize and expand the skills I've gained. B) I will have access to plenty of oringinal photographs, something I was having trouble with in other ideas, and C) While she does have a small (and rarely updated) blog dedicated to her cake business, she has no real website, and I think it may be a good way for her to generate business, beyond word of mouth.
SITE GOALS

The client wishes to:

  1. Make her brand name more accesible through electronic media in order to enlarge her area of prospective clients, a how you heard of us section may be added to order forms to measure the effectiveness of the website as a form of advertising.
  2. Generate more business and revenue, while promoting growth and expansion.
  3. Compile an online portfolio so that prospective customers may see past work, and to further generate interest.
AUDIENCE Her previous clientel have typically been Women between the ages of 25-45, for they are the ones who typically plan birthday parties, weddings, and such events. So we will tailor this site specifically for them, but also hope that it will also gain the attention of Males in the same age range.
AUDIENCE PROFILE Elizabeth is a 30 year old mother of two children. She has an annual income of $48,000 a year. She has a newer computer which her family uses for web browsing and gaming. She perfers clean sites with easy usability, but also hasa "cuteness" factor to it. She likes to use to web to find local services in her community for a discount.
CLIENT My client is the business owner and baker, Toni herself.

INTERFACE I want the site to be clean, with an elegant touch. Possibly a cute disposition; but I want it to be very functional and straightforward as the majority of people using the site will have a basic knowledge of web use.
