West Meadow Farm Barn

General Location:

West Meadow Farm is a certified organic farm situated 18 miles northwest of the city of Selah, Yakima County, Washington.  Specifically, it lies in the upper Wenas Valley, an upland area nestled between the east-west running ridges of Mount Cleman and Umtanum Ridge which extend from the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountain Range in central Washington State.  The Wenas Valley is a part of the agriculturally rich Yakima Valley which constitutes a portion of the Columbia Plateau.

Our farming history:

West Meadow Farm is family owned and operated.  The site of the farm has been under the stewardship of the Hazen family since 1951.  In all that time neither pesticides nor inorganic fertilizers have been applied to the land.  The Hazen family has been actively involved in farming and other agricultural endeavors for at least 12 consecutive generations, beginning in North America in the 1640’s when the family first arrived in Massachusetts from England.
